Box Office Bingo is very similar to Monday night Bingo in the East Activity Center.
When a game starts, you will have nine random opponents and you will be able to see their bingo cards. Your bingo card is always in the second row, at center, and has your name on it.
You control the random ball drawn. When you see a purple button stating DRAW BALL, it is time for you to pick the next bingo ball. Push the button, give it a few seconds and the next number will appear. First you will see the color of the next ball drawn. This is a hint what the number will be. Red balls are 1-15, blue balls are 16-30, yellow balls are 31-45, green balls are 46-60 and orange balls are 61-75. Shortly after a ball stops rolling, the number will appear.
In our Box Office Bingo version, you can cheat just a little. At the start of every game, you will receive a MAGIC BALL. By clicking this Magic Ball, you will get to decide the color of the next ball drawn. You cannot pick the exact number drawn, but can select the color. Make sure you click the Magic Ball at the perfect time because you will not get another Magic Ball until next game.
After a bingo ball number appears, you have to push an action button. The action button you push is very important and depends on the number drawn. There are three possibilities. (1) If the number drawn does not appear on your bingo card, push NO MATCHES ON MY CARD (2) If the number drawn does appear on your bingo card, push MARK MATCH ON MY CARD, or (3) if the number drawn is on your bingo card and it gives you bingo, then push MARK MATCH AND SCREAM BINGO.
Be careful. If you claim the number drawn is on your bingo card and it is NOT on your bingo card, you will receive a warning. Get two warnings and you forfeit the game and will have to start over.
There are four ways to win. (1) Get a bingo in any horizontal row (2) Get a bingo in any vertical row (3) Get a bingo in a diagonal direction or (4) Get all four corners and the center square. Your computer will not tell you when you have a number match. You have to push the green button to get credit. The computer also will not tell you if you have a bingo. You have to see it and push the yellow button to get credit. Once a number is drawn, you cannot go back and claim it on your card. You can only match the current number drawn.
Keep in mind, when you start a game, you always get the center square as a free space.
Every time a ball is drawn, $5 is added to the jackpot. When a bingo is called, the jackpot is official. The jackpot will then be divided by the number of winners. Play prize money is then placed in each winner's account.
VERY IMPORTANT: If you are playing the game and nothing appears to be happening, the game is probably waiting for you to draw the next ball. Look for the purple button which says DRAW BALL. When you push it, the game will continue.
