Why do we do background checks?
On Top of the World is always looking out for its residents. Not just anyone can advertise in our community newspaper. When it comes to individuals who are in business for themselves, and part of that business is entering a resident's condo, then On Top of the World really gets protective.
If you own a business with several employees, and you have already done background checks on all these employees, then you do not have to proceed with our background check. However, you must take out a display ad and will not be permitted on our Private Business Page.
If you are an individual, and you want to place an ad on our Private Business Page, then you must fill out a background check form first and wait for approval. Even if you have had a background check done for another organization, if you are working on your own, you must still complete our background check. Cost of having a background check take place is $40.
If you owe a lot of money, if your credit score needs work or if you have a criminal background history, these are some of the things that will disqualify you from being allowed to advertise in OTOW News. If you feel you pass these guidelines, then print out the forms on this page and turn them into the newsroom, along with a check for $40 made payable to OTOW Press. Keep in mind, there still could be reasons you get turned down to advertise. The conditions listed are more common issues that come up.
Background checks take about 2 weeks to process. If you pass, you will receive a call or email. We will then begin the process of building your ad.
Your ad will be 2.5 inches wide by 3.25 inches wide and will appear on the Private Business Page with everyone else who has passed the background check. This is On Top of the World's way of telling residents that we looked into everyone advertising on this particular page and there backgrounds passed.
However, On Top of the World never recommends any advertiser on this page, or in this newspaper, to residents. Hiring someone's services is still a choice made by the resident. As with all advertisers, do your homework before making a selection. |
