The weekly Artistic Crafts & Gifts Tuesday craft show at the Recreation Center Ballroom is from 9 a.m. to noon and continues through May 13. After that, we have our summer vacation until the first Tuesday in September. This will give us time to rebuild our supplies and pursue new and creative ventures.
ArtisticCrafts.org will give you a glimpse of our very talented crafters and artisans. The group started in the early 1990s, and the show has grown to over 50 tables on Tuesday, with over 90 online for their visual presence, with unique and custom designs. All resident crafters are welcome to sell virtually on our website and inquire about a table at our Tuesday show.
This month we’re featuring Janice M. Puta, who was raised in Wisconsin, Indiana, and Illinois, where she relished the distinctive change of seasons. Now, it’s the comforting warmth and abundant sunshine of Ocala. Having been trained as a certified consultant and teacher of spiritual response therapy for over 20 years, she has helped people needing life coaching and healing.
This journey has led her to focus her coaching by designing structural tools such as a 210-page book and a unique deck of cards that can be used independently of each other as preferred by the user. Using her creative poetry and writings, she teamed up with Tricia Sybersma, an artist who blends horses and painting. Tricia was inspired to use eight horses to create this intuitive art. With a simple way to use non-toxic paint laid out on paper, then covered with a protective cover so that the horse doesn’t have contact with the paint, it’s finally sprinkled with compressed hay on top. The horse gently nibbles and nuzzles the surface to produce a stunning blend of colors and energy when the painting underneath is revealed.

This book entitled “HeartFelt: Live from Your Heart” entails one of these beautiful paintings on one page, with a spiritually healing poem or powerful and inspirational affirmation on the other. The corresponding card deck features 73 cards with an index guide and a similar layout of artwork and verse on the front and back. Some folks prefer the ease of the cards for carrying around or daily display. Sometimes, another voice is needed to guide and heal, as this might be a gentle solution. The book and cards are thoughtful gifts and might be used in quiet daily meditation and reflection moments. Please check out the Gifts 2 page on our website for her listing.
Janice’s poetry is occasionally published in the World News, where you can review her style and depth of feeling. She hopes her poetry will offer guidance and inspiration to all who read it.
