The much-anticipated 20th annual Ocala Open charity golf tournament hosted by Candler Hills Golf Club raised $90,000 for local charities Empath Hospice of Marion County, Inc. and Interfaith Emergency Services. The three-day tournament began with a Charity Pro-Am on March 18, 2025, on the par 72 championship course. The Pro-Am paired three amateur golfers with one Ocala Open golf professional for a competitive 18-hole round.

Charitable Impact
Candler Hills Golf Club has been committed to philanthropic efforts since opening in 2005. This year, the renowned tournament celebrated its 20th anniversary. With the help of many sponsors and community members, the Ocala Open has contributed over $1.1 million to the local charities of Empath Hospice of Marion County, Inc. and Interfaith Emergency Services.
2025 Ocala Open Golf Tournament
The Ocala Open golf tournament teed off on March 19, spanning through March 21, 2025. The fair weather provided ideal game conditions for the 144 golfers. Ultimately, Mickey DeMorat of Merritt Island, Florida, claimed the victory score totaling -15 with 198 strokes. “Congratulations to Mickey DeMorat, who played like a true golf champion. The 20th annual Ocala Open was a great success, and we thank the sponsors, players, volunteers, and community for supporting local non-profits and making a positive impact in the lives of people facing hardship,” states Matt Hibbs, director of golf at On Top of the World Communities.
