The newly formed Jazz Dance Club meets for rehearsals on Mondays from 10 to 11 a.m., primarily for the Ovation Dancers, and then from 11 a.m. to noon for regular jazz dance classes. The 11 a.m. time slot would be the best option for beginners. As we progress into 2025, I will happily organize more time for basic beginner classes. All classes are held at the Arbor Conference Center Studio D.

The dancers performed at the Health & Wellness Expo in January at Circle Square Cultural Center, debuting a brand new number from Will Rogers Follies called Favorite Son. Will Rogers was a comedian, raconteur, and famous lasso expert from Oklahoma in the 1930s. Not too seriously, he was asked to run as president on the platform as Oklahoma’s Favorite Son, and this number is a tribute to him. It is performed sitting down but utilizes the dancer’s ability to remember moves in a fast sequence. It’s difficult for a twenty-year-old, let alone a group of over 55 ladies! I am immensely proud of my beautiful ladies, and I hope new members will join us very soon. We work hard, and we laugh a lot!
