If you’ve ever strolled through On Top of the World (OTOW) Communities on a sunny afternoon, you’ve likely been charmed by the delightful array of pets that make our neighborhood so special. Our furry (and sometimes feathery) friends are as much a part of our community as the residents themselves. This year, twelve of these beloved pets are stepping—or flying—into the spotlight for a heartwarming cause: the inaugural Pets of OTOW Charity Calendar.

Now, this isn’t just any calendar filled with adorable pet photos (though it certainly is that!). It’s a project that embodies the spirit of our community.

On Top of the World Communities recognized an opportunity to combine our residents’ love for their pets with a mission that resonates deeply with our community values. The idea was straightforward yet powerful: create a calendar featuring the adorable pets of our residents and use the proceeds to benefit a local nonprofit.

This year, we chose Patriot Service Dogs, a remarkable organization that has been training and placing highly skilled service dogs with veterans at no cost since 2009. These dogs provide assistance with mobility, help manage PTSD symptoms, and offer unwavering companionship. They are, quite literally, lifesavers.

So allow us to introduce you to our charming calendar stars…

In January, we have Precious, a Shizari Himalayan Blue Point kitten. February showcases Olivia, a fluffy white Samoyed. March features Bryan, a playful dog weighing nearly 97 pounds at just two years old. April highlights BACI, an 8-year-old Cavachon and snowbird from Long Island, NY.

May brings us Dexter and Auggie, German Shepherd brothers. June is graced by Victoria, a working guide dog devoted to her mom. July celebrates Sylvester, a rescue cat happy to represent this patriotic month because his mom is a veteran. August stars Vinnie and Echo, beloved parakeets who love to go on walks with their dad. September features Gracie and Frankie, twin sister cats.

In October, we have Jasper, a dog who loves golf cart rides—especially to watch the planes at the RC Flying Field. November warms our hearts with Clyde, a Goldendoodle beloved by his neighbors. Finally, December wraps up the year with Mooshu, a Siamese cat who adores the Florida sunshine.

The project has touched many hearts within On Top of the World. Jim Gilleland and Ed Balaban, whose fluffy, white Samoyed is the star of February, expressed how this was a fun process not only for them but their entire Newcastle neighborhood, who love Olivia and wanted to see her selected for the calendar. “We will always love Ms. Olivia, what a delightful legacy this sweet girl leaves us,” Jim says.

Now, we’re inviting everyone to be part of this special initiative. The Pets of OTOW Charity Calendar is available for pre-order, and every purchase brings us one step closer to helping more veterans receive the support they need.
