Nancy Warren suggested we do a prop night with a Halloween theme. Of course, we first said there are not many Halloween songs. We decided to be creative, wear a Halloween costume, and find a song to accompany that outfit. As usual, our singers did not fail the task.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charlie had a long beard and a black hat. He held a \u201cwatermelon wine glass.\u201d He sang \u201cOld Men and Children and Watermelon Wine.\u201d<\/em> Tom came looking like the American flag. He planned to sing a patriotic song. Nancy had her alien with her. She sang \u201cMr. Spaceman.\u201d<\/em> Norma sang \u201cComing to America\u201d<\/em> and had a complete Statue of Liberty costume with a torch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can count on Karen to have an entire outfit. She came with a long black wig and a black outfit. You guessed it, she sang a Cher song called \u201cBelieve.\u201d<\/em> Laura even had her husband come and help with her costume. She sprouted wings and had a flowing white gown. She sang \u201cStrange Things Happen in This World.\u201d<\/em> I had a giant spider, spider webs, and a snake around my neck. I told everyone that I don\u2019t like \u201cSpiders and Snakes.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Forever, our hippie Ed sang \u201cHotel California.\u201d<\/em> He added a mask and sang \u201cIt\u2019s All I Have.\u201d<\/em> Sandy sang \u201cCrackers in My Bed.\u201d<\/em> She had a letter she was pretending to read. I came running in and grabbed the letter. She was reading my letter! Darlene sang a John Denver song, \u201cToday.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vicky always gives us a treat on prop night. She plays the piano and sings her songs. Wearing a wig and colorful dress, she warned, \u201cShe Put a Spell on You.\u201d<\/em> She also played and sang the classic \u201cSpooky\u201d<\/em> song. Bill sang \u201cThe Dance.\u201d<\/em> Bernie likes to sing duets with Tom. They sang \u201cWelcome to My Nightmare.\u201d<\/em> Donnie and Rose came in Native American outfits. As Donnie sang \u201cKaw Liga,\u201d<\/em> Rose walked the room. Lorraine treated us to a rap song about prop night in karaoke. She did it a cappella and had parts for the audience to do. Joe brought back \u201cJackson\u201d<\/em> with Nancy. They both wore black cowboy hats. Phil tried to scare us all with \u201cSomebody\u2019s Watching Me.\u201d<\/em> Fran had a globe beach ball and sang \u201cOn Top of the World.\u201d<\/em> Of course, it had to be tossed around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karaoke is always a fun night. We meet on the first and third Mondays in the Arbor Activity Center Music Room. Singing runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. We will meet on Dec. 2 and 16. December usually has several Christmas songs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
