Attention all On Top of the World military veterans! This year brings about our fifth annual Veterans Classic Softball Tournament on Saturday, Nov. 7. Please mark your calendar, as a full day of activities is being planned to commemorate Veterans Day, starting with the Posting of the Colors by the Marion County Memorial Honor Guard at 8:30 a.m. This will be followed by a single-elimination, round-robin intra-military branch-of-service softball tournament, culminating in the championship game in the afternoon.
All residents and guests are welcome to attend and cheer for your favorite military branch as they compete for championship bragging rights and ownership of the coveted Captains Championship trophy. Be ready to enjoy the sunshine outdoors; bring chairs, sun umbrellas, and refreshments. Other activities will include a “come one, come all” home run derby, food truck lunch concession, and more, so be there or be square.
